Urban Harmony sits at ease away from the bustle of foot traffic along the Old Bank Arcade corridors, where the client is received through an entrance wall covered a tranquil native New Zealand forest scene.  

The clean white interior and the display unit are visible through an opening in the high gloss black shopfront. Designed from the client’s point of view, the central layout was composed from the inside out offering a private respite from busy schedules.

Clever space planning utilises negative space for storage rooms and open spaces clearly define focused tasks, such as the consultation space and the waiting lounge. As you await your treatment, cosy resting squabs are stepped back into recessed walls, while you flip through magazines.

The washing and styling spaces are delineated through the finesse of a fabric curtain wall, a humble barrier that provides a sense of refuge during the privacy of treatments.
