Bar and Restaurant - Johnston St, Wellington CBD
The re-fit of Juniper endeavoured to create intimate after-work-drink and dining spaces, to an already acclaimed restaurant. Screening partitions constructed in stained American Oak successfully separate the bar hang-out from diners, and allow glimpses into each others quarters adding a playful distraction.
The monotonous suspended tiles of the ceiling were ripped out to undress the original 1970’s concrete frame. A suspended ceiling is implied with the adornment of delicate rose lanterns set against a burnt orange wall. The existing ruby banquette and the warmth of dark timber compliment a moody interior that provides a welcoming dining experience, whatever the time of day.
